Established in 2019, HTS is a company made up of cycling enthusiasts with a special interest in endurance sports.

Our work
Top Shield Creams are revolutionary, truly innovative cosmeceuticals that have been conceived and developed specifically for professional and amateur cycling.
It took 5 years of research and development to gain approval for our unique formulas. Throughout these 5 years, our products were tested in athletes in different fields and categories, from first-timers to elite cyclists and World Tour athletes.A team of sports medicine professionals followed the athletes during the months prior to a race and during the races themselves (Tour de France and Giro d’Italia). A research protocol guided our studies of the elite cyclists and the clinical data collected was submitted for scientific evaluation to the Clinical Dermatology Departments of several institutes and universities in both Italy and abroad to be validated scientifically.
OUR COMPETITIVE EDGE
Traditionally, anti-chafing creams (generally called ‘backward’ or ‘forward’ creams depending on the area on which they are used) are the industrial by-products of diaper rash creams. They are conceptually formulated as physical barriers to prevent any direct contact of skin against elements and fabrics. Due to the nature of these ‘barriers’ – usually zinc oxides and paraffins-, skin pores are clogged and hinder regular perspiration, resulting in an increase of the temperature in the interested area. This inconvenience, in the case of the newborn, is negligible, given the absence of ‘load’ on the area, not substantially affecting its anti-friction function. Due to the nature of these ‘barriers’ – usually zinc oxides and paraffins-, skin pores are clogged and hinder regular perspiration, resulting in an increase of the temperature in the interested area.
For cyclists or anyone who dynamically sits on even the best saddles when riding a bicycle, a motorbike or a horse, an increase in temperature may trigger unwanted reactions such as sores and inflammation. These may result in further serious injury complicated by bacteria in allergic people. We at Health Through Sport have taken on the source of the problem by creating TopShield. It is a physiological, non-occlusive barrier that lets skin breath without altering its temperature or pH, creating a protective shield that eliminates the traumatic «rubbing» effect caused by the saddle, and consequently, many of the associated problems. TopShield cosmeceutical shield is long lasting and easily removed from both skin, with a regular body soap, and from sportswear in a washing machine at 30°.
